WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOUR STAY

Clubhouse Guide

We’re excited to host you! This guide contains everything you need to know before your arrival. Please read through carefully to ensure a smooth check-in and an enjoyable stay.

What to Bring

  • Towels and bedding
  • Flashlight
  • Camp stove (if you plan to cook)

Campground Rules & Information

Sleeping Area

We provide mattresses and pillows (if desired). While the Clubhouse has lights, the light switch is not accessible from the sleeping area. You will also need a flashlight if you want to go to the bath house after dark.

Kitchen

The kitchen area has a sink with cold running water. However, if temperatures dip down to freezing, we have to disconnect the water to the indoor and outdoor sinks. We provide filtered drinking water.

The Clubhouse has a small solar-powered refrigerator and coffeemaker, coffee cups, and a limited amount of silverware. If you plan to cook food, please bring your own camp stove, which can be set up on the porch. There is a utility sink for washing pots and dishes on the Clubhouse porch.

Washing dishes in the bath house sinks is not permitted.

Solar Electricity - Important

Phone Charging: You can charge your phones in the bath house outlets.

Please do not plug in anything else (hair dryer, electric razor, tooth brush, etc.)

Why? The camp is solar powered and has limited electricity, which is needed for running water, flushing toilets, hot showers, and lights.

Cleanliness

There are several trash cans and recycling containers around the Clubhouse.

Please deposit your trash there.

Wood Stove

For cold nights, we will set up the wood stove for your first evening in the Clubhouse.  However, one adult will have to take responsibility for keeping the fire going. The wood stove can be finicky, and you will need to read the manual to keep it working efficiently.

Fire wood is provided.

Please no open flames like candles inside the Clubhouse.

Fire Ring

There is a large fire ring outside the Clubhouse to enjoy in the evenings. It has a removable grate that would allow cooking over an open fire.

You are responsible for keeping one or two gallons of water nearby to douse the campfire before you go to sleep or leave the camp.

Fire Safety - Important

You are responsible for dousing your fire before you go to sleep or leave your campsite. Please keep your gallon bottles with water next to the campfire for easy access.

Virginia State Law mandates “no burning until after 4 pm” and that all campfires must be attended at all times.

Phone Reception

Verizon: You MAY have phone reception.

Other networks: Most other networks do not work here.

WhatsApp: Works fairly reliably.

Pet Policy

No pets are allowed at the campground.
